Sushi Katsuei West Village

Written up as the best value omakase in NYC, I would have to say it is may be one of the best tasting as well. I ordered the sushi sashimi omakase. I have never had a better selection presented to me. The chef also makes each piece with its own sauce. The last time I experienced this level of umami was in Tokyo. The service is top-notch. Not pretentious or intimidating. I noticed afterwards that had been Michelin rated for the last 3 years. Definitely, will come back often. Amazing food experience!

The best sushi I've eaten in New York, even compared to the high-end places like Yasuda. Also a friendlier vibe with families and more reasonable prices. Table service is good, but I would recommend omakase at the bar for the most sublime experience.

Excellent quality of fish. It’s all about the fish and not so much of the crazy named rolls whic I can appreciate. Wish I had more time and money. It is a bit pricey and I was still hunger. Will have a better plan of attack next time.

The food was crazy great, it makes you think, ' what have I been eating all these years? ' Dinner for two we didn 't eat much at all, $200. I was taken back by the price, a bit out of my price range but. Definitely not 2$ signs.

Outstanding! The quality of fish is 5*. Tuna Avo and oyster appetizers are amazing and sushi Omakase is even beyond my highest expectations! This place is a must if you love sushi.
