My wife and I have been dining at Sushi Sasa for the last 5 -6 years and unfortunately our experience last night was not the best. The food was satisfactory, but we have never felt so rushed by the service team the way we did last night. We were there for maybe an hour and the servers kept bugging us and wanting to clear our table so we could leave. Our reservation was at 7:30 so it wasn't too late. It was awkward and the commute ended up being longer than our meal. We love dining here but for whatever reason, last night's experience was not pleasant for my wife and I.
The restaurant was very busy and our server spent more time serving the people at the bar/counter than the patrons seated at the table. He did comp a cocktail and Sushi that arrived so late. He did not need to comp one of the sushi orders but I think he realized how long we sat without a check in and we had to flag someone down 4 times to get service. Food was good but it seemed they needed more wait staff.
My girlfriend and I were able to walk in on a Friday and get seated right away! We ordered the eggplant buns and miso soup to start with the elderflower martini and all were amazing!! Our sushi was very creative and the dessert was out of this world and everything came fast and wasn’t overpriced.
We did not realize we had to request Omakase 24 hours in advance however our server created an omakase (ish) experience for us by selecting the best menu items for us. We did not have to make a single decision and it was all delicious! Highly reccomend.

They gave us a basement table in an area that was first come first serve. Felt a bit slighted. Would have hoped to sit upstairs in the main dining room since it was just 2 of us and we made the reservation months in advance.
Drinks were a miss across the board old fashioned and espresso martini. Price didn’t correlate with the quality and flavors just didn’t hit. Staff was very attentive and overall great!
Food was good. Not much ambience in the back room. They cut our server half way into our dinner which was extremely odd.
Highly recommend, food was great, parking easy, server was wonderful.
