Food was decent with fast service. Some unexpected scenarios at our first time trying this restaurant though. While selecting the menu items from provided tablet, I noticed, all of a sudden my bill turned from around 80 90 to about 250. I was surprised since I planned to order more items. Checked with the staff. They mentioned that it has been changed to dinner buffet to order anything we want except for drinks. Point is, no one informed about this ,dinner buffet change, at any time not while booking the table, not when we entered the restaurant, not when we were seated by the server and not even on the website . I was blown away after trying Sushi Star for the first time yesterday, having previously only been to Kinkaku. For lunch, Sushi Star is definitely the better choice. They offer a much larger selection of fresh and delicious options. Some highlights include the light and colorful rainbow roll, the sweet and creamy sayo soup, and the perfectly fried banana tempura. They also have some unique items such as tempura ice cream, black sesame ice cream, and fried rolls (which weren't my favorite but still worth a try). Make sure to make a reservation in advance if you are planning to dine with a large group! We made a reservation ahead of time and the restaurant was bustling, which leads me to believe that it may be challenging to walk in and secure a table. The prices here are quite similar to Kinkaku for both lunch and dinner for all-you-can-eat. One standout aspect of this place is their fantastic smoked salmon sushi. Delicious! The sashimi and rolls were of standard quality but still enjoyable. Additionally, they offer a great selection of desserts such as black sesame ice cream, cheesecakes, and deep fried Mars bars. The service was prompt and friendly. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!
Our first impression was that our dinner was served within 5 minutes of sitting down. The staff was friendly and especially accommodating to children. They were always clearing tables to make sure there was enough space for everyone. The menu had a wide variety of options that I haven't seen in other sushi restaurants. The food was well-cooked, delicious, and aromatic. I feel like I definitely got my money's worth this time. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone, even those who aren't big fans of sushi!
This is by far the best sushi place we have ever been to. The staff are so friendly and efficient and they care about the customers. The managers personally check up on you, become friends, remember you and are always connected and excited to see you! I feel so welcome and special when I come here. Sushi stars has ruined all other sushi places for me because nothing compares to this place!
In my opinion, this restaurant in the KW region has the best sushi I have ever tasted. The fish is extremely fresh, and the sides and desserts are also very tasty. I highly recommend trying the white tuna sashimi and the fire salmon roll, both of which are amazing. You will not be disappointed with any dish you order here.
This restaurant is absolutely fantastic. We drove all the way from Mississauga to Kitchener just to dine at the best sushi spot in town. The food is outstanding, with refined and delicious flavors that are incredibly fresh. The customer service is top-notch as well. You must give it a try!
