Sushiko is a great restaurant for a casual get together but not exactly what one expects at one of DC's top sushi restaurants. Little things like low/medium quality wooden chopsticks that splinter when split, the waiter forgetting to read the specials out and forgetting to bring napkins to the table, bringing the food out in a strange sequence with several dishes lumped together crowding the table, cleaning person not cleaning the table properly in between courses, a lot of noise being generated by the restaurant staff, and initially not accommodating a strong seating preference due to a medical condition for my guest that I had included with reservation request despite more than adequate space to be able to do so were blemishes on the experience. The food was a solid 7/10. The toro was very good (but not excellent) as was the mussel miso. The rainbow roll was so so. There was no low sodium option for soy sauce on the table.
Last minute Wednesday night stop it was a perfect choice for an easy late night dinner.We have been before and always love quality of the food. This time did not disappoint!We picked the Bento Box easy and quick. Service was excellent!! Food cam out quick, high quality, good quantity and absolutely delicious!! I enjoyed a beautiful, well balanced cocktail as well.Highly recommend!!!
