Take it from someone who's Guyanese... you'll be addicted to this food!! I wish I knew his name, but there is this overly animated waiter that greets costumers with such warmth, and allows you to sit any where you wish. He's so welcoming and courteous, it's a joy to have him as a waiter. He always recommends you and your company to order something different so you can share. Very thoughtful. There's another waiter, who's just as sweet, however he has the tendency to remove plates from your table before you fully get to finish the meal. I never get mad though, I find this pretty funny. If you're not familiar with Indian food, know there is yogurt in a lot of the curry. This means that it's pr...

I think Swagat serves the best food in Tarrytown. I 've been ordering carry-out here for years now, but only just the other night sat down for a meal there, and while I might have a minor critique about the service, food this good is what it 's all about. From their appetizers, the samosa are perfectly crisp, available with meat or a potato-pea filling. The vegetarian option is good, if a little bland on the inside. Onion bhajiya and the pakora are satisfying without being too much of a fried batter impression. Incredible though, is the chana chaat papri; chickpeas, potatoes, bits of fried dough and red onion mixed into a cool yogurt sauce. The variety of textures and flavors are plenty, and...

Well.... Absolutely no atmosphere whatsoever, playing loud 90's rock music seemed a little out of place, the wallpaper is plastered with photos of the GWB for some weird reason I still can't figure out, and of course when we thirstily ordered a couple of Kingfisher beers, we were politely reminded that they are Halal and serve no alcohol. However, Tikka Masala was delicious and the vegetable Biryani was fresh and dry and tasty . Aloo Paratha was disappointing, as was the Papadum which seemed stale and lifeless. All in all a mediocre place but not too bad for a curry in a hurry!

Another fabulous meal at Swagat. Wonderful food and a gracious host make for a fine dining experience. I've never had a bad meal here. During the pandemic we got take-out and it was always delicious and hot when we got home. Today we dined in and loved every bit of our meal. From the Garlic Shrimp app to our main courses of Paneer and Saak to the Naan, it was delicious. We wanted to save some to take home for a snack but just couldn't do it. After our meal we strolled through Tarrytown to help digest our meal. We will be back. Réservez une table maintenant

Friendly service with really great Indian food. I got the Shrimp biryani and it had some real kick to it, so watch out for the spice level as I ordered in medium spice. The lemonade and sweet lassi were also very delicious. The prices are decent as compared to other Indian restaurants. This place is Halal and also BYOB, so the family right next to us were drinking wine, which seemed quite odd. If you 're truly a Halal spot then just make it strictly that kind of environment. So this place lost my 5 stars and down to 3.

Had a very nice meal here prior to a show at the music hall. The food was very flavorful and well prepared. The leftovers I took home made two more meals. Not an elegant dining destination, but you gotta remember why you go out to eat--it's to eat. If you're looking for white linen service, mood lighting and background music, you won't find it here. Nor will you find beer or wine; they're halal. I will be back when I am looking for a good Indian meal in the area.

Back to ordering delivery from Swagat. The customer service over the phone is just phenomenal. Please note at this moment delivery does not start until 5 so call ahead. The food was just delicious and it is a good size portion. The samosas are still absolutely delicious and reheat well. I hope to sample much more from the menu in 2021 . Outstanding Takeout and delivery packages and double wrapped for safety.

They are doing takeout/delivery during COVID! They were so lovely about my food allergies and the food was delicious! They have customized a dish to be non-dairy for me and The food is consistent. The samosas are a steal. Réservez une table maintenant

To the Manager of Swagat, Please don't sprinkle extra salt on the samosas. This makes the samosas too salty. And not as enjoyable. Don't spoil your reputation any further... Thanks...
