I loved this place! Great food huge portions. My husband and I would order takeout, but we never actually dined in house. My love for this place changed right before Christmas. My mother and I were out shopping and looking for somewhere to have lunch. I was really excited to suggest this restaurant and take her there for the quality food. Specifically the chicken fried steak! My mother does not go out to eat much due to her being high risk for Covid, so I was double excited when she wanted to go to a sit down meal. Here is how this played out, mom went to park the car, and I went in to get a table. I walked in the door to a half full restaurant and a lady holding menus at the door looking very annoyed. She turned, looked at me, turned back around, I politely said “Hello”, she turned back to look at me, spatted out a hello, rolled her eyes at me and asked me “how many?” Meanwhile an elderly woman at a table said “Excuse me Miss?” And held up her coffee mug, to which the woman turned and yelled “You are going to have to wait! I am only one person!!” and then she turned back to me. The entire restaurant was silent, and watching her be rude to paying customers. At this point I looked at the woman and said “Never mind.” I then proceeded to walk out behind a couple that was leaving. I was furious and so disappointed. On the way back to my moms car, the couple was walking next to me and making comments about how rude the woman inside the restaurant was, and how they did not enjoy their experience. I preceded to get back in the car and explain to my mother the events that took place, we were both very disappointed. I just want to note that I was a server in restaurants for 25 years. I also understand the state of the world right now, and that people are short staffed everywhere. What I do not understand is rudeness. I have been frustrated beyond belief numerous times when serving the public. Never have I been rude to anyone like this woman was rude to me and that poor lady who just wanted a coffee refill. This place has 100% lost my business. It’s such a disappointment.
This is my local Favorite Restaurant/Diner Hands down! The quality and quantity of the food plate choices they offer are Top notch. Never had to wait to be seated. Just hoping they replace the Booths bottom seat pads soon, as they are losing their cushioning oomph.
