*this added note is for the owner: I am not arguing that it's not vegan, but more that I would not even closely consider that Challah bread. Vegan Texas Toast and Challah bread are two very different things and what you served was neither. I updated my review to make it clear. My recent return to Sweet Basil's Cafe, hoping for a better dining experience, left me just as disappointed as before. Regrettably, I won't be giving this establishment another chance. My review specifically focuses on their vegan options.During my initial visit, I opted for the vegan Sweet Basil's Grilled Cheese. Immediately, it became apparent that the sandwich was not served on vegan challah bread, contrary to what was advertised. I thought it WAS VEGAN, but definitely NOT considered CHALLAH BREAD OR TEXAS TOAST. My friends, who happen to be Jewish, confirmed this discrepancy. When I raised the issue with our server, she went to the kitchen and returned claiming that it was indeed challah bread. While I didn't feel the need to argue further, it was evident that the bread did not meet the criteria for vegan challah. This misrepresentation left me disheartened.Additionally, the presence of wilted lettuce on my plate was unappetizing. Although the sandwich itself was passable, the saving grace was the delightful fig aioli. However, considering the overall underwhelming experience, the steep price of $15.95 felt unjustified.During my second visit, I tried their Sizzling Breakfast Frittata. While the home fries and toast were satisfactory, the frittata itself was inedible due to excessive saltiness. The $16.50 price tag felt unjustified for a dish that lacked any real flavor. The service was also subpar, with inattentive and unfriendly staff.Sweet Basil's Cafe should reconsider their vegan options, aiming for both quality and affordability.

This place is amazing. Super fresh home made food! The owner is so nice. He explained how the restaurant works and he told us about the amazing cooks they have and how they have added a vegan kitchen and they churn their own butter!!!!!! This place is hands down one of the best places my boyfriend and I have ever found! We love this place and the quality in their food is literally the best!!!!! You can taste the difference! Also it’s super affordable!!!

It’s always special finding some gems in your local area. Foodies will find the elusive Challah French toast here, along with some other fascinating brunch and lunch items (some really healthy options). Dinner specials change regularly and the menu’s also filled with plenty of classics. You can never go wrong with special Apps.
