5 star for food and 1 star for service. Been there a few times in the past few months. The last time we were there, the server wasn't very friendly. She came across as not wanting to be there. With CAA membership you get a free appetizer when ordering 2 qualifying mains. Server informed us it did not apply to the special. So she was well aware we had a CAA membership. Sadly when bill arrived I paid without verifying and then noticed I was charged for the appetizer. When I asked the server they seemed annoyed that I caught the mistake and made a fuss about having to give cash back for the overcharge. Although things seemed fine at the moment of service, the food caused a severe case of food poisoning. I traveled from Montréal to see some family and we had lunch at this place on march 29th 2024. I had the southern Canuk plate and it caused me diarrhea, vomiting and fevers. It could not have been something else as it was the only thing I had eaten that day. I spent the night, and the rest of the weekend in the hotel bathroom. I still have symptoms (today is March 31st) and i had to cancel the rest of my trip and travel back to montreal to see a doctor. The last few times I ordered from this location my dinner was delivered and missing items. The first couple of times, I didn’t mention anything. Today, I called and asked for a refund because about $10 worth of items were missing. I’m starting to wonder if they shave a bit off here and there to save money hoping it isn’t enough for someone to bother calling back or send the dinner back. It is so often that it doesn’t make sense. There is something wrong at this location. I never had this issue when I used to order from the Appleby/Upper middle store. I enjoy Swiss Chaletand keep coming back. The wait staff are the best. Taking time to make customers comfortable and very helpful with suggestions. As much as the robots are amusing I prefer a waitress/waiter who listens, makes suggestions, and cares about how I like my food prepared. A robot cannot do that and I really don't want to see the wait staff lose positions for a machine. Losing good staff loses returning customers. We for there and waited around 10 mins to get a table, no hostes or waitres around. The floor was very slippery. Once we got sited, the service improved. I tried the fish and chips, not bad.. however, I would ha e preferred less fries and bigger fish portions and more salad.
