managed to come shortly before serving and had not had any expectations before. despite the fact that pubs were busy as Sunday morning before Valentine's Day, they were very welcoming and that eating was extraordinary. we had tried to get into two other local pubs without falling, although it was just us both, and wanted us to try the sycamore first. will definitely return. such a beautiful atmosphere, the pub and restaurant would really appeal to everyone as a wonderful old pub in beautiful colwinston, but with a relaxed atmosphere. simple parking space with good choice of dining and vegan and vegetarian options.
for a family dinner. eating was superb piping hot, good portions. wait service was first class, didn't have to ask for something. the price of £12:95 to £13.95 for an adult and £6:95 for a child was more expensive than a standard toby carvery, but the extra price was well paid and there was no comparison. After we had finished our meal, a man came by to ask if we had enjoyed the meal. not sure if he was the owner, but it was a nice gesture and it made them welcome. is definitely back and can highly recommend.
I received a warm welcome and excellent service at this restaurant. The gluten-free menu was more extensive compared to others in Cowbridge and Bridgend. The herb-crusted cod was delicious and perfectly cooked. I also enjoyed a gluten-free Peroni to complement the meal. I highly recommend this place.
I had an absolutely amazing experience at this restaurant for Sunday Roast. They offer gluten-free options for all items marked GF. I enjoyed a delicious lamb dinner followed by a sticky toffee pudding for dessert. I highly recommend this place.

Fabulous food, service and setting, staff were amazing!! Rather quiet for a Saturday night but the weather was awful and that made it all the more intimate. Wish we had known about this little Jem sooner. Will definitely be back. 5* plus!

Visited with my family at the weekend. Lovely little pub. Dog friendly, food was reasonably priced given the location. Definitely will return, especially to try the Sunday lunch.
Lovely Sunday lunch very tasty I had the beef which was very nice. A few more veg required would be my only criticism. And the pear crumble was delicious.
