Went there for Sunday lunch. I appreciate the weather was terrible and pouring with rain, but the staff were moping up the floor in the restaurant, while people were trying to eat. The toilets were disgusting, again water coming in. I wouldn’t let my dog...use a toilet like that let alone me and my family. We paid £15.50 for roast beef, which consisted of 2 slices of beef, 2 very large roast potatoes, a soggy Yorkshire, 2 small carrots which were rock hard, cabbage and gravy that was so transparent you could see through it. The only plus was that the staff were friendly. I wouldn’t go back again. The premises need sorting out, I except it is the old post office, but I don’t think it is suitable for serving food.

Several items on menu no longer available. Food took about 45 minutes to arrive; starters and mains together! Biggest problem though was food quality- very poor. Several of us had burgers- stale bun, overcooked (verging on burnt) burger, no pickles, mean portion of chips, almost...certainly the cook-from-frozen' variety. Two of us had a vegetarian dish so bland that they went to the bar for Worcestershire sauce and Tabasco. Maybe we can put al this down to it being New Years Day but, if the staff were all worn out from a busy festive period culminating in a big night out/ big night at work on Dec 31st, then maybe just don't open- spare the customers the pain as well!

I had only one Sunday roast in this pub and I have to say that it was perhaps the best I ever had. the atmosphere was dear and welcoming and the whole staff seemed very friendly, the cook even came out and said hello, and told us. He was just here for a few weeks. Please note the latest reviews and sample the sunday roaster here. they will not be disappointed. there is also a large selection of local craft storeys and ipas.

Nice pub but the staff smoke at the back of the pub and it reeks of smoke at the back of the pub every time they do...which is often... It’s awful... Asked staff about it and they said it ‘wasn’t too bad’.... It’s awful....they could...smoke somewhere else it doesn’t effect the customers (at the front of the property) but they don’t. And it’s been like this for a while... A shame a nice pub affected by smoke....
