We happened by Syrtaki's on our way back to our the Continental Hotel. The decor was a typical throw back to Greece. The husband and wife owners though were the real treat, Real Greek, or so I think. The food was great. Four of us each had a different dish and not one was a disappointment. And like all food in Lucerne, this was not a cheap date. But for the price and given all the other meals we had in the city, this was great food at prices comparable to most of the other places we ate in the city.
This restaurant was close to our hotel. We had a reservation, but the dining room was not very full. Our waiter was initially very gruff and a bit rude. However, as the meal progressed, he seemed to be more and more friendly and was fun to interact with. The food was good but not memorable. This was still a good, convenient choice for weary travelers.
The food was ok but by Greek restaurants that I’ve been in around the globe, it was just passable. Keftadakia was dry with a very weak tomato based sauce. Shrimp dish was similar to what you would find in a buffet restaurant. Mousaka was ok. Definitely not a good example of a cuisine that has a long and great heritage.
Quite spot for a Tuesday night (we were about the only ones in the restaurant). Ordered a mix of entrees and mains on the menu to share. Like everywhere in Lucerne, the prices are out of the world for what you get. However, the quality and service was pleasant. It was across the road from where we were staying.
