My wife and I are vegetarian and had dinner at Szechwan Kingdom. For an appetizer we had vegetarian duck with a pickles garnish which was delicious. We split an entree of bean curd vegetables in white sauce with a side of white rice (brown rice also available). This too was excellent and the large portion was more than enough for the of us. For drink, they have a tasty pot brewed tea which we enjoyed. Excellent choice for Chinese food in the north suburbs.
The restaurant has been closed for weeks which we didnât discover until we appeared on Christmas evening in accordance with our reservation. Whatâs more, we couldnât make another reservation because we couldnât cancel the reservation because it could only be done by phone and it was disconnected. For this inconvenience and significant expense (options limited and we ended up a a much more expensive restaurant) open table gave us points.

CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS. Open Table did not know and I booked my family all of us for dinner. Weâve been there dozens of times and LOVE IT, but the lack of communication between Open Table and Szechwan Kingdom caused us great heartache for our annual day after thanksgivings dinner out. We made an open table reservation for Christmas for 6 p.m. We got there and there was a sign that said closed for renovations Obviously they didn 't let open table know. Very disappointing.
That was very disappointing. I got on 25. December 9 people booked for dinner and when we arrived there, the restaurant was closed!
Our 1st time trying the food hereA lazy monday evening and we got the urge for ordering-in something asian.
