I have been told that Taco Bill is the Australian version of "Taco bell" or "Del Taco." Perhaps that opinion is due to the lack of fast food Mexican restaurants in Melbourne (that I am aware of) Taco Bill (I wish was open earlier in the day) has a great offering of Mexican style dishes. I have yet to eat a taco there of any variety that didn't' just "hit the spot." While the menu is not huge the listed items are well put together and always consistent in taste. You will never order an item and be disappointed that it was not as good as the previous time. The spinach & potato enchiladas are my ultimate favorite! Very addicting! When I travel, as any traveler knows, good food or great meals don't happen every single time, so when great meals do happen, especially when traveling overseas, you tend to remember. In the case of Taco Bill's this was a pleasant surprise. This restaurant was recently renovated and located right around the corner from Quest Corporate Apartments where we were staying, also a pleasant place from our experience. Don't let the name fool you, it was a great restaurant, and not a fast food experience. You walk up two very short flights of stairs and the aroma will guide you there. Taco Bill had a great atmosphere, with a mix of Latino and Mexican music, friendly staff and laughter throughout the restaurant on our visit.We ordered the Paco Penos, Beef Fajitas & the Car Con Chile Colorado. All were delicious and had great flavours and taste. I also ordered the Purely Peach Margarita which was ok, but nothing special.I'd recommend a visit here, we went on a Saturday and given how busy it was it would explain why there was a longer the usual wait for food, but it was worth it. Be weary of the Paco Penos as the filling is very hot!
Really likes this place. I had the $15 lunch special with some sangria. My only complaint was that the sangria was more expensive than the meal.Very friendly staff and nice food- will be back

We stumbled upon this one by accident and glad we took the trip up the stairs! The food was great. The service pretty good. Small cosy venue but well worth stopping in.
I'm a native Texan, and it's hard to find good Tex-Mex. This is technically more Cal-Mex, but the flavors were good, as were the portion sizes. What a nice find!
Coming from the States where you can get some great authentic Mexican food, I am going to bias my review by one star since I have not found anything in
My partner had a VERY bad meal at the Russell Street Taco Bill -- he said it was the worse meal he's eaten in Melbourne.

Very consistant tasty food, we have never had an ordinary meal here. Sangria is a little expensive tho
I am a CONNOISSEUR when it comes to Mexican food and in particular when it comes to Taco Bill.
