Taj is not just my favorite Indian restaurant in Birmingham; it's my favorite restaurant overall. I absolutely love this place. The food is incredible and always fresh, and it's the closest to authentic Indian cuisine that I've ever encountered. The lunch buffet is a fantastic way to sample a variety of dishes. Additionally, if you're a vegetarian, this is definitely the place to visit, as you'll find more options here than anywhere else.
The food here is mediocre, at best. The quality has steadily declined over the years. Unfortunately, the staff is generally unwelcoming and often rude. We made several visits to confirm it wasn't just a one-time issue, but it turns out it's a consistent problem. There are far better dining options available in Birmingham. Goat curry masala tea perfect meal. I love their prices and quality of food. I haven't eaten the buffet yet because I always have dinners here. Everyone is nice and I love the copper cups for water. Mmm may need to run and get goat curry right now!

We went for the lunch buffet and it was magnificent. They have at least 4 vegetarian options. The price is fantastic and I would recommend the mango drink for desert. My only word of caution is to not wear your favorite white shirt:
I ordered the Onion Bhaji, Aloo Baingan, Palak Ki Tikkiya, and Mixed Vegetables. Everything was delicious, and I definitely recommend this place. Their online menu clearly indicates the vegan options, which is great!
The first thing I look for when I enter an Indian restaurant is the buffet. It's the perfect choice for those who may not be very familiar with this type of cuisine. Taj India's buffet was excellent!
New to Indian food and loved this place! The decor felt as though you were being treated as a guest in their home. The food was delicious! I'm intrigued to go back again and try something new.

My aloo gobi was really watery, but pretty good. Naan was delicious. They made everything vegan by request. Be sure to ask that they do not use ghee.
The lunch buffet is delicious and affordably priced. There are plenty of vegan options, although I wish they were clearly labeled as vegan!
