I hadn’t been in the talbot head for a long time but my husband and I started to go in around August 2019. This quickly became our local. The owners and staff are very welcoming and this is something that is hard to find locally! This made a huge difference and we have never had a bad experience. The atmosphere is great when sports are on! Karaoke nights are fab and there is always someone to talk to. If you are looking for a friendly place to go The Talbots head is definitely worth a visit , there is something for everyone! The place has a real pub feel with the added bonus of having a food menu!... Never had a bad meal And the food is lovely, reasonably priced and well presented!
Mike, Tina, and Paige are the most welcoming hosts you will ever meet. You can expect a friendly and warm greeting in a relaxed atmosphere with fun and lovely people. The kitchen is clean and serves delicious and reasonably priced food. On Christmas Day, the atmosphere is fantastic as Tina, Mike, and Paige even prepare Christmas lunch for locals who are spending the day alone. They have hearts of gold and work incredibly hard. I have nothing but positive things to say about this pub and its owners.
NOT a pleasant experience, I went on a recommendation last week, the menu looked inviting but the food was bland and tasteless, we was served a drink at the bar by a man in T- shirt, shorts flip flops, then he took my order a little later and proceeded to the kitchens which I found a touch unhygienic for a modern working kitchen if there is something I don’t wish to see in a restaurant its bare feet. The lady brought our food which we did struggle with and deffo will not re-visit
We regularly eat here. The food is always excellent. Simple fayre cooked to perfection. The staff are always pleasant and Mike and Tina are wonderful hosts. Always have time for a chat even when they’re rushed off their feet cooking and serving scrumptious food. The menu is reasonably priced. Highly recommend if you’re in the area. had really good meal at the talbot. the food was fresh,hot and really tasty. The portions are quite large so don't eat before you go. Mike and Tina are really friendly and make you feel welcome. There is a nice beer garden outside. We will definately be going there again and would highly reccomend.
Sunday lunch is brill, breakfast is just what you need on a Sunday morning! Food is always up to a great standard and the atmosphere is so welcoming! Staff make sure you feel welcome all the time, the sort of pub you could walk into on your own and feel comfortable.
