I was interrogated humiliated and felt intimidated by Sandy at the front reception she kept looking over my shoulder to look at my QR code when I asked her to step aside she would not I have never been so embarrassed in front of people...in all my life after speaking to other people there they said the same thing this woman needs retraining I will never walk back enter that place as long as she is there it was absolutely disgraceful she told me that the QR code was mandatory which I have no problems with but treated me like a child and followed me around to look over my shoulder Aldi I thought the surf club was about having fun and enjoyment not about intimidation the way she spoke to people...
We met another couple for lunch here. Parking was a bit tight, but we found a space. The venue is quite large and spread out, which is great in these COVID times, and also allowed us to sit and chat for a couple of hours...over a meal and coffee and cake. All our meals were very good, but our friends did say their octopus was a tiny bit tough. My calamari was delicious. Coffee and cake were good too. We would go back here. Service is pleasant, food was reasonable,there was no rush to move us out, the view was ok, and it was quiet enough to hear our own conversation.
Great location with amazing views. The staff are top-notch. However, the food is quite disappointing and simple. It gives off a hospital cafeteria vibe. The mashed potatoes taste like they come from a box and the croutons are just bread crumbs. It seems like the kitchen lacks a skilled chef or one that is passionate about the food. Despite this, the restaurant still deserves 5 stars for its location and service. My recommendation is to eat before coming here. •ᴗ•
Meeting family for lunch here I ordered the beer battered fish and chips and this was not a great choice for it was not worth it very small thin pieces of fish few chips and a salad that was quite big but that's...not the main part of the meal salad mix is very cheap and you can only eat so much of it a very disappointing choice the others had the Thai Beef Salad which they were quite happy with but meals for it was way over priced for a surf club

My dinner experience at the surf club tonight was flawless. Every staff member we interacted with provided excellent customer service. I want to give a special shoutout to Sara, Therese, and Nat for making our evening so enjoyable. The food was fresh, perfectly cooked, and delicious, and the atmosphere was delightful. Thank you for a wonderful night out, we can't wait to come back.
The restaurant is lovely and the staff is very accommodating. However, the food took a bit long to be served and came out lukewarm. This was disappointing and should be improved for lunchtime service. The menu is extensive with plenty of options. The nachos I ordered were oversized. Despite these issues, it's still a great place to visit, especially with its beachfront view.
So you know how when you usually go to the surf clubs and it's over priced ordinary pub food, well strap in cos my friends and I were very pleasantly surprised. Firstly the serving are generous so go hungry, second had the octopus salad perfectly...cooked, friend had the calamari NOT over cooked or chewy and my partner had the steak, yum. Thank you chef, cudos to you.
As local Gold Coasters we took our visitors from country NSW to Club Tally last Wednesday night and we all had the seafood platter. All the food on the platter was fantastic, all seafood was really fresh. This is only our second visit to the...club but we are quickly becoming regulars to the bistro.

The selection of beers 'not my cup of tea ' everybody else were easily satisifed. We had fisherman 's basket, tuna special and extremely yummy nachos. Overall great. Will definitely return next time we are in town.
