They booked us in but didn't have the space to accommodate us. I booked a table a week in advance for 10 people (staff meal for teachers and got 8 seats instead (6 in reality as 2 people were just added onto the ends . They stuck 3 makeshift single tables of different heights together towards the back, next to the kitchen door of the restaurant so it was difficult for people and waiters to get past. When I complained the owner made all sorts of excuses and tried to convince me I had asked for 8 (even though we were really given 6 and we were squeezed into a space that shouldn't have been used to seat customers . Dined at Tamarind while visiting some University friends in Northampton. Once we arrived at Tamarind we were greeted by one of the waiters who made us feel very welcome. I was really impressed how Tamarind looked aesthetically. We sat down next to a glassed water feature which was something I’ve never seen before and it gave off a really warm and cosy feeling. I took my family to Tamarind to celebrate the new year and it was absolutely wonderful! The staff took great care of us and made sure we had everything we needed. We shared a delicious mixed grill starter and for mains, we enjoyed chicken bhuna, genghis said, mango chicken, keema naans, and rices. The dishes were full of flavor and truly amazing. It was a fantastic way to start 2024 and I highly recommend Tamarind for a fine dining experience. The staff is lovely and we look forward to many more visits in 2024! Cheers to a great year ahead! If you want a good meal and friendly, excellent service and warm inviting atmosphere, then try visiting Tamarind. We went with friends last night and got exactly that. We and our friends have gone here together before on many occasions and it has always been excellent in every way. The staff are so friendly and professional, the food is fantastic and the atmosphere lovely, warm and inviting and the service has always been exceptional. Overall the Tamarind restaurant is top class in my opinion and we will continue to return again and again.
Catching up with a friend. He uses Tamarind regularly, I’d not been for some time. There’s a carpark at the back (2 hours free, turn at the Spread Eagle pub). The restaurant was pretty busy which we both thought was great just after the festive period. We were shown to a table straight away, despite not having a booking. The food was really nice, fresh tasting and well presented. The staff were attentive but not hawking and hassling us. A very nice experience and I’ll definitely be returning soon.
The food was brilliant and the staff were amazing, his recommendations were delicious and thoughtful taking into account what we liked and giving lots of options. They ended up being absolutely perfect and even though I couldn’t finish I was able to take it home in a nice bag as well.
