Tanuki - Réservation de table

Tanuki is a minimalistic take away restaurant. Do not expect a lot besides the food. You cannot sit and eat. But the food is why you go there, isn't it? Very friendly people (a couple?) serves you the food that is usually being prepared right after you order it. So, expect to wait 5 minutes before you get your meal to take out. And while you cannot eat your meal at this takeaway, you are welcome at the neighbours if you consume a drink there: it is a book-lovers café "Livresse". (nice name that does not translate. A mixture of "book" (livre) and "drunken" (ivresse)

Tanuki is a small sushi take-away with arguably the best quality to price ratio in Geneva. The owner is very nice (he 's from Hokkaido, northern Japan) and has trained properly as a sushi chef in Japan, so it 's the real deal. Last time I went...staff was Japanese too, always a good sign (as if the food itself wasn 't enough). Tanuki has a deal with the nearby Café Livresse , so that as long as you order a drink, you can sit there and enjoy your sushi in peace. Alternatively I advise going to parc des bastions and sitting there if the day is nice.

For sushi freshness of ingredients is the most importance. You will not be let down by the freshness of the fish, scallops, ikura and tobiko that this little place is offering. The chef is very careful and attentive at the preparing the sushi. Even though the place might not look much of the restaurant but the food it offer is one of the best in Geneva. Réservez une table maintenant

De loin les meilleurs sushis de la place! Le couple des patrons est tellement adorable en plus. Exit les chaînes de sushis de la rue de Carouge, ils ne tiennent pas la comparaison. Ca fait plus de 5ans que je passes fréquemment au Tanuki et jamais je n'ai été déçu. Toujours frais, toujours excellent, toujours un sourire pour l'accueil!

We've been here several times and it's never failed to impress. The staff is super beautiful, the food is always fresh (they prepare it before you) and delicious, and great value. If the weather is nice, you can enjoy the food at the nearby Plainpalais Park. We recommend a visit!

Je ne suis pas fan de sushis d'habitude mais ceux du Tanuki je les mange volontiers. Fraîcheur assurée : le propriétaire les fait devant nous. Un peu cher mais ils valent leur prix. Attention : ce n'est pas un restaurant, uniquement plats à emporter . Réservez une table maintenant

It is recommended by a friend, and we had the best lunch of the week. The staff are Japanese and very polite. We took our food to eat next door at the Cafe Librairie Livresse, ordering a drink there.

Petite enseigne japonaise très sympathique, les produits sont bons et le résultat à la hauteur. Les sushis sont trés bon. Le prix est dans la norme ce qui fait de Tanuki une bonne option sur Genève.
