I ordered the Chilaquiles Carne Asada plate I was charged $27 when most places in the area only charge 12.99 for this plate. I Don’t mind paying for good food. Price is not an issue but quality of food and the quality of service is upon getting home and tasting the food. It was horrible. My steak was overcooked and the Chilaquiles bland with no flavor at all after two bites I immediately went back to tell them and requested a full refund. They denied my refund and told me that I had ate the food and they will not be giving me a refund. I was shocked at the low quality of service! I have been going to El Durangito all my life as a Maywood resident and it was very disappointing to spend over $140 on burritos that were mostly filled with rice. My sister and entire family have supported this business for as long as it’s been open. The food was decent but man, being stingey with meat after paying $16 and added service charge is insane. We also got a torta and same thing, a bunch of crema but not enough meat. It’s very disappointing because El Durangito was always my childhood spot. The food at this restaurant is outstanding. My favorite dish is the Durango burgers accompanied by fresh fries, but the torta cubana and burritos prepared with homemade tortillas are also fantastic. The red salsa strikes the perfect balance of spice. To complete the meal, I highly recommend pairing it with a Mexican Coca-Cola. I've never had a negative experience here; the food is consistently delicious. I can't recommend this place enough, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
Do the pressed chicharron girditas come with another stew? I ordered takeout tomorrow morning and right now I ate one and I almost broke a tooth with an egg. I 'm saying if they are pork rinds why do they come out with bones? 1 quite big and 2 small Update: so that 's not pressed chicharron!!! I got the burrito desebrada and it was good but too small to be a burrito ? ..more like a long taco.. I got the big orchata. And it was more like a small orchata... a little bit too pricy for small portions... also I got a gordita al pastor and that one was good and it was a good size. I recommend that .. next time I will try the tortas and hopefully it good too.
Update: It turns out that the pressed chicharron gorditas are not actually made with pork rind but with carnitas! If I wanted carnitas, I would have ordered carnitas tacos at another restaurant. I went there specifically for the pressed chicharron gorditas, but now I won't be going back.
