Taco mile! Taco crawl! Of the places we went on our recent taco crawl, I think Taqueria La Chilanguita was my personal favorite. Prices are decent, tacos are big, juicy and flavorful. The meat is very well seasoned and the tortillas taste fresh too. I really liked the cabeza and the barbacoa. Barbacoa is normally my gold standard to judging taco places and it definitely passes with flying colors here. The cabeza though has become something I liked at more places, as it has the richer fatty flavors I crave that cut well with the salsa. The food was disappointing and lacked flavor, almost as if they were trying to hide something with an excessive amount of onion. It was very bland overall. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant, and I won’t be dining there again.
Today, I visited Taqueria La Chilanguita and ordered a quesadilla along with a serving of gorditas. Both dishes were fantastic! I thoroughly enjoyed everything.

Highlight of our taco mile crawl- delicious meats, tortillas, spicy pickles on the side. Squash blossom vegetarian taco was incredible too. Que rico!
