Taco snob here. I can't believed I've lived in Central Illinois for almost five years and I'm JUST NOW trying this place. Wow. I haven't had tacos this good since I left California. Tortillas were perfect. Carne Asada was SEASONED!! (This region of the country doesn't seem to believe in spices or any other seasonings). Their chorizo was perfect and grilled until there were tiny specs of burnt. Carnitas were flavorful and perfect. I can't wait to come back and try their Mojarra. I've missed that dish. The chips and salsa were both outstanding, earning a perfect score of 5. However, the rice was rather forgettable, and I wasn’t a fan of the flavor of the beans, although they were cooked well and had a good consistency. I just didn’t care for their choice of beans. The thin ribeye carne asada was tasty, and my companions enjoyed their tacos! As for the side, I received a handful of greasy tortillas wrapped in foil, which was a bit disappointing. On a positive note, the mango bottled drink was quite enjoyable as well.

I was pleasantly surprised during my visit to Decatur when I took one of my employees out for lunch on Thursday. The restaurant was bustling with customers the entire time I was there. I ordered tacos along with a plate of beans, lettuce, and guacamole. The food is made to order and absolutely delicious! They also offer chips and salsa, which is a nice touch. I may have overeaten, but it was worth it! Overall, it's a fantastic restaurant with great food at wonderful prices!

Been sick for a week after eating food from here. All 3 of us ate food from here the on 6/26/2023 got sick. My wife and I are still having symptoms 8 days later I will spare you the details(but its BAD). We know it was here cause the 4th person in the house didn't eat the food from here that night and didn't get sick. Buyer beware. I don't go out of my way to give reviews so for me to do this means it is extreme. Réservez une table maintenant

unbelievable true, true, true, mexican food!!! i have never had mexican cuisine ths delicious outside of mexico. we just moved to decatur and this will be a weekly staple for my family. can not wait to return. we even took entrees to go after we ate!

La Primera—there’s no contest. This is my go-to spot. It's a cozy dive taqueria serving the best carne asada around. The sopes are incredibly crunchy and mouthwatering. If you're in the area, you definitely shouldn't miss this place.

Definitely a great find. I live in an area with a large Hispanic population and we get spoiled with great Mexican food I can say this place is legit! The asada and al pastor was fantastic. The carnitas were great, too. We'll be back!
