We wanted to eat in the holiday home after our arrival and marched to Taste of India. When we arrived there at 18:30, all the tables were occupied and other guests were waiting. the manager offered us immediately to reserve a table for 19:30. We used the waiting time to look around in the place and take a walk. When we came back an hour later, our table was ready after a short waiting period. Our last night on Skye and we were staying in Kyleakin, which doesn't have a lot to offer in the way of nightlife/places to eat haha but we were recommended the Taste of India by a local to the area so we tried it...out. It was on a Friday night the restaurant was hugely busy (which was a good sign). We hadn't booked so I thought there was no way we'd get a table. But they had us seated within mins and were not funny with us for not booking. The selection of curries I have never heard of on the menu was overwhelming!! I was a little apprehensive about going having read some of the other reviews that were not promising for my visit with my better half. The food was good and for ourselves the portions were ideal but I can see when some would think it...was small. My only real negative observation and needs addressing is on initial trying to book for I was asked if I could make it for I should have realised that we would feel rushed and my wife and I did feel rushed by the way each course was served almost one after another with little time to digest each in turn. This results in the after effects and spoils an otherwise good meal but leaves a distinct taste of disappointment.
Booking is recommended as this gets really busy, we arrived at and by people were waiting for tables if they arrived without a booking. The restaurant also does a huge number of takeaways which must put considerable pressure on the kitchen staff. waiters who were kept busy throughout the time we were there, dealing with takeaway orders and service restaurant customers. The menu is extensive and there is plenty of choice. Our meal came within an acceptable wait, was well cooked and we enjoyed the meal. Prices are reasonable for Skye

Literally this was the worst curry experience of our lives. We ordered a takeaway. The staff member was really rude on the telephone and worse in person. The customers waiting were giving each other uncomfortable glances throughout our wait. We thought the curry would be...worth the wait on a cold October evening but we were very disappointed.....it had no flavour. We really didn't think that was possible with an Indian but we now know it is. Really, do yourself a favour and go somewhere else. Anywhere else.
Went there on a sunday night without booking, still tables available.Lovely service from two indian guys.Food was really good, very well seasoned, authentic indian food! Big portions as well.We didn’t wait long for the courses either.After we arrived it started to fill up quite quickly...so maybe booking is essential, at least on summer I would say. Definitely I would recommend this place and I will go back.Not expensive either
The food was really excellent, and there was a lot of choice to provide for all tastes and preferences (lots of vegetarian options as well Service was very nice and friendly. Not too expensive. Honestly this is the perfect place to go for a family...looking for a great meal near Kyle of Lochalsh.

Honestly cannot think of a better Indian restaurant I’ve been too! Every single dish was incredible. Well worth a trip if you’re in the area.
FOOD TASTES AMAZING!!! accommodated of us within mins Staff are very nice not one complaint from any of us. Great place!
