The story of the best Valentine’s Day ever... My wife and I are traveling and forgot it was Valentine’s Day. We had just arrived in Portugal, it was late at night and we were starving. We looked up a restaurant close to the hotel we were staying at and this place came up. We walked in and was immediately greeted by the staff. We thought we would have a translation issue, but not at all. Everyone spoke very good English. They said they had a custom menu, we weren’t sure why but we were ok with the idea. We went in this restaurant for its history and atmosphere. We were quite disappointed. Only 2 tables occupied including ours. The service was good and the waiter really nice. The main course was quite good but the dessert was really poor. We paid more than 110€ for 2 which is far too expansive for Lisboa ! The 2 days before we had paid half price for much better food in trendy restaurants.
Not on everyone's radar, this spot will serve you delicious, typical Portuguese dishes at top quality. The restaurant has been in family hands and Management since its foundation in 1998. Excellent fish, and awesome meat dishes and rounded off with home made deserts or fresh fruit. Added bonus: it won't drain your wallet!
