UPDATE: the owner made good on his promise! We went back to order to pick up dinner and he paid for our whole bill which was so completely unnecessary but so kind. I feel so much better now since we missed going to one of our favorite restaurants! So glad, and as always, the food was delicious! UPDATE: the owner called, who we know very well, and apologized profusely to my husband today. He assured us it never would have happened had he been there and he is speaking to his staff. I literally just left Galo tavern 18 from having my daughter's wedding shower there. I cannot express my gratitude for the staff who did an amazing job with service. everyone was absolutely polite.,professional did their work without being seen or known and everything was absolutely delicious. Special shout out to Nicole one of the managers who is an amazing human being and will do anything possible to make a day very special. Also big shout out to Bruno who is also a wonderful person and very accomodating. We’ve enjoyed coming to Galo 18 for a few years now. Their dining experience is always nice and food is excellent. We had our wedding rehearsal dinner and baby shower in the banquet room and had a great time! Bruno and Nicole are great to work with when booking an event. Extremely easy going, kind and accommodating. On the day of the event we were able to come to set up early and everything went smoothly from the beginning. Bruno checked in on us to make sure everything is going well, waiters were extremely attentive and the food is always delicious. Portion sizes are great and everyone love the atmosphere. We highly recommend Galo to everybody and plan on having future events there.
Steaks were GOOD. The 8oz filet mignon melted in mouth. Had sautéed mushrooms, broccoli and carrots, and mashed potatoes also, all perfectly seasoned and flavorful. Broccoli was perfectly almost-tender but not overdone. Server was delightful and recommended customer favorites, since this was our first time. I tried their chimichurri drizzle and port wine reduction with the steak, and just barely preferred the chimichurri. The port reduction was slightly sweet and buttery, very nice touch with the mild and tender meat, but the herby, oily chimichurri gave me just a little more flavor. I am thrilled that I selected Galo Tavern 18 for my son's birthday celebration. From start to finish, everything was outstanding. Nicole was incredibly attentive, friendly, and accommodating. All the guests at the party raved about the delicious food and were impressed by the professionalism of the staff. I highly recommend this venue for private events.
