Ted's Coney Island West

Best Gyros I've ever had. The Gyros here are to die for. Nectar of the gods stuff here. That's the problem. I'm sure the coney's, shap chicago-style dogs, and tenderloins are all good here as well, but I've never had any of them. The gyros are that good. When I come here, I can't pry myself away from ordering anything else. I look around the restaurant and I see 99% of the patrons eating exactly the same thing I am.

We found this while traveling through. It was fast and delicious! The basket option gets you fries, onion rings, and coleslaw. Kids meal comes with fries and applesauce. We got baklava to go. The Coney dogs were delicious. The gyro bowl was a great option with lots of cheese and sauce without all the bread. We had friendly service and were impressed!

I love coming here for lunch whether I want to get a good quality bite for work lunch or with the kids on the weekend. Gyros or falafel are my general go to with a Greek salad, but when feeling frisky I hammer a tenderloin w/chilli basket. Don't forget a cookie or baklava for the ride home.

I have no idea if this is authentic Greek, but who the heck cares because it is delicious. The lamb and chicken in the gyros were incredibly tender, and the tzatziki was delicious and I even got an extra side helping. Also the service was super fast and friendly. 5 out of 5! One of the best gyros I've ever had! I've tried many gyros all over the USA, and the one at Ted's is definitely among the top five—maybe even the top three! It was undoubtedly the best I've had in Des Moines. I'm sure I'll be back!

I've never been to another place quite like this, but I really enjoy the food and the atmosphere here. I love the Grecian Chicken paired with a Greek salad, just be careful because the olives have pits!

It’s always a delight! This is the best gyro I've had in Iowa, right next to the fair. As someone from the South, I'm a big fan of fried food, and the fries and Zartoin are consistently excellent.

Great Mediterranean influenced take on some great American comfort food such as chili dogs and cheeseburgers. I had grilled chicken club on a pita...BEST PITA BREAD IVE EVER HAD! HOGHLY RECOMMEND! Réservez une table maintenant

Only one problem for me when at Ted's; deciding between the dogs or the gyros. The Chicago style dogs are perfect on every way. They are matched by the equally top quality gyros.
