I was here for a wedding on a Sunday afternoon as a guest. I'm carefully trying to be objective here and selecting points that are reflective of the service at the venue, but not of planning from the party. The place is nice. Lots of greenery and an photo opportunities. It's basically a park with a house for the reception off to the side. My wife and I scheduled a wedding date in 2015 for a date in September 2016. We had sat with the owner (Alex) on two occasions to establish our date, menu, room and price. Everything was written on his calendar notebook on the date of our wedding and on a paper he gave us with menu options. My wife and I went for dinner last year in August. It is a classic Victorian house with a beautiful garden and greenery as far as the eye can see. I was there on a weeknight and my wife and I were the first to arrive as they were just opening up. People were whizzing around before they noticed that I was standing at the front. We both ordered the prime rib and it was excellent. Dessert is good. The food quality is good without a doubt. Now for the highlight: for my main course, I ordered the sea bass with scallops. My sister had the fish special, my husband chose the halibut, and my mother went with the filet. My dish was absolutely perfect—classic flavors cooked to perfection. The scallops were large and glistening, just like the sea bass, and the vegetables were also really good. I was thoroughly impressed! The halibut dish came with a delicious sauce, though it seemed like it wasn't cooked quite as well as mine, but it was still very tasty. After our favourite special dining facility closed we decided to try Terrace on The Green for our 49 Anniversary dinner. Amazing comes to mind. French Onion soup,the best ever tasted. Had the salmon and unlike many places it was not dried out but was succulent and very easy to separate. Served with broccoli, asparagus on a bed of wild rice. Well worth the price. My wife had the Chicken Supreme and it was delicious as well. For dessert recommend the spice cake. This restaurant did not check our vaccine passports. The owner or manager frequently walked around without a mask and spent much of his time drinking with guests at one of the tables. Our waitress wore a clear mask that didn’t cover her nose and was ineffective overall. The other waiter took off his mask several times. The food was mediocre and quite overpriced, lacking any culinary creativity in flavor or presentation. We were given just a tiny piece of rapini as the only vegetable on our plate. Although the restaurant has a lovely setting and an attractive interior, we will definitely not be returning!
Thoroughly enjoyed everything. Had grilled calamari, crab cakes and spicy shrimp for appetizer. Everything was perfect. For dinner had steak, lobster, asparagus and mashed potatoes. Wow perfection even the mashed potatoes. For dessert we had cheesecake which was delicious as well. Service was on point and I have to say it was a perfect evening out.
I took my boyfriend here for his birthday last year, and it exceeded our expectations! The food was delicious, and we had a great time relaxing in the wonderful ambiance. The only reason I’m giving it 4 out of 5 stars is that accessing the parking lot can be hazardous, and parking spaces are quite limited.
