Texas Chili Parlor In Aust

The TCP has the best chili in town without question. The standard is made with chunks of brisket. Old-school Austin place with down home people running it. I like to get a small bowl of the veggie chili and a taster of the habanero and then mix them together. Absolutely money. Perfect amount of heat. There is a full bar as well. Parking can be challenging at peak times, so either come early or late and park on the street, or walk or Uber at peak hours.

An Austin classic. Go for the atmosphere. Friendly, old-school Austin spot. Old-school (i.e. great) prices too. The type of place that would be really sad to lose as Austin changes. Just go.

Had the chili sampler, and all three were fantastic. Service was great, and I loved the atmosphere. I'm definitely going back when I visit Austin again.

Good experience but lack of information from the waitress on the spiciness of the dishes. Nice atmosphere but very dark.
