they do not take any reservations so that we went the first time the wait was an hour to a half hour. the second time that we went, we have the call in and get to the waiting list option (which they are sure to tell them is not a reservation.) we had to wait 20 minutes. if their restart is so popular, they need more stalls or a larger restaurant. once sitting, the staff was nice (although I felt that their friendliness was placed and short) and took our order very quickly. we sat in one standing right next to the bar (you can see from the image below how close we were to the bar) and it took 22 minutes to get the 2 beers we ordered, and never get our appetizers. 30 minutes later our food arr...
Excellent service! The food was terrific and our server was friendly, efficient and very understanding when our daughter, be who truly only came just for the rolls, went back for seconds and thirds. She was great about keeping drinks refilled. We were at a five star restaurant for our anniversary the previous night and the service was not this amazing.Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly! We were on our way home from Newport RI and stayed at a local hotel that recommended a Texas Roadhouse as a good place to eat nearby. When we went to check into that restaurant we waited over a 1/2 hour in line only to be told the wait to be seated was 1-1/2 to 2 hours. We've eaten in TR before and none are worth that wait, skip it. Instead we found The Black River Tavern which is in a local Golf Club. We had a great meal there, no wait. We have the Fish and Chips and Chicken Parmesan along with two Black Walnut Manhattans. Wished in the area so we could go back to The Black River Tavern.
the service is quite terrible in many restaurants since covid, but we had a fantastic experience here. the restaurant was packed, but they sat us immediately with warm rolling and zimtbutter. our waiter donte was friendly and expected everyone needs during the meal, although he had many other tables to take care of (drinks and brot refill, seasoned, etc... I have nothing other than good things to say about this place, and I am grateful that we have a place to go to when we want to get out and trust that the service will still be quality. We ordered to go tonight, and they forgot to give us the sweet potato with toppings (which I paid extra for). I ordered it with my meal. The rest of the food was yummy and packaged well. We tried to call to get my sweet potato resovled, and my husband sat on hold for 25 minutes, I sat on hold for 20 minutes before we gave up. Never had any issues in the past, but very disappointed tonight.
