We arrived at 7pm, were quickly seated and our orders taken. The entrees arrived very promptly and were delicious. However an hour later we were still waiting for our main courses, now I know it was a busy Saturday night but by then we were getting a bit frustrated. No staff came over or apologised. I went and asked a waitress, she shouted something at the kitchen but didn't come back to us to let us know how long it would be or what the hold up was. So when the food still hadn't arrived a few minutes later I asked again and she said it was coming, she spoke to the kitchen and then came over and said 2 minutes (again no apology or explanation). Now we all know things go wrong in hospitality,...
This restaurant won two prizes from us: 1. The worst Thai restaurant we have ever been anywhere in our lives, 2. The worst dinner we had during our trip to Australia. Being a big fan of Thai food we went and hoped to have a nice night after a day out in the island. But we ordered, and basically left the food, paid 60 dollars for nothing, and left. The red curry was so sweet it tasted like jam. The Tom Yum (which should be sour and spicy) was neither sour nor spicy, but sweet. To make a long story short, please avoid, this is a disgrace to thai food. I now understand why it was empty when we were there. Should have got the hint and left before ordering.
We decided to try the Thai Inlay, as it was close to our accommodation, and looked pleasant enough to draw us in. While the setting is quite good - the decor and views of the canal were attractive - the service was slow and poor. Our waitress got our meals mixed up, and when they arrived (after a lengthy wait while take-aways were dealt with) they were not only incorrect but half-cold as well. (My wife had hers re-heated in their microwave!) The meals were reasonable, but not great. The wine list was limited and had large mark-ups on average wines. A disappointing experience, and one we're unlikely to repeat.
Went there last night and ordered a mild stir fry. When it arrived it was so hot it was inedible. (I had tears coming out of my eyes and do have a decent tolerance for chili). I told the waiter who went to the kitchen, then came back and said that if I wanted another one I'd have to pay for it. (I'd barely eaten any of the meal). I refused to pay for the meal as it was not what I ordered, left and went to the Chinese place about 50m away which was really nice with great service. Won't ever be back to Thai Inlay. We dined here on a Friday night and managed to get a table on the basis of a walk in only. We figured that due to the number of people dining here, the food had to be fairly impressive. The food wasn't terrible, it was just average and definitely not one of my most memorable Thai meals. The service was a little a miss - not overly friendly or personable. Overall, I am glad we dined here to make up our own minds, but nothing about my experience would draw me back here.
We came here for a relaxing dinner, the restaurant is located in Raby bay Harbour so the views are nice, however the service was on the slower side. They forgot to bring my drinks so I had to go and remind them twice....then I had to open my beer bottle...,very odd. The food quality is good though, so that made up for the low service, I doubt we will go back.
Stopped in for lunch, an excellent restaurant although quiet. The food was excellent. Main dishes of Victory Prawns and Chicken Pad Thai were excellent. Victory prawns are recommended. In a precinct of restaurants at the marina with a good outlook. Reasonably priced as well
