The food is good.Good size meals.Well priced.Friendly Owner/Chef who is more than happy to sit down for a chat at the end of the night.But unfortunately the waiter who, we are told, only works Saturday nights brings the overall rating of the restaurant down. We decided to try another local thai restaurant, we ordered 2 entrees and 2 mains. When the mains arrived I noticed a short hair in the food which made us lose our appetite. We informed the waiter and said we would be happy to pay for our entrees and be on our way because we weren't going to eat after finding hair in our food. The waiter called the chef (the owner) who was quick to suggest we planted the hair! He refused to let us leave until we paid for the meal in full. Surprised to find this small 'restaurant' in the heart of Mortdale (my neighbourhood). You walk upstars turn left pass the dirty kitchen and look at the old carpet and immediately you want to leave the place but I was stupid enough to stay to have factual evidence of my gut feelings.They cook in there some kind of imitation of Thai food but I am more inclined to think that the cook is chinesse or does not know how to cook Thai food, period!My advice, I will never set foot in that place ever just walk across the street and go to Mama Barone, where you will get a reasonable italian food on a samll restaurant but will not complaint.
We've been going here, and getting takeaways, forever. Chai, the chef, is like one of the family and has helped us celebrate many events at his restaurant. The food is very good and very plentiful. We are often surprised by the meagre portions we have been served at other Thai restaurants as we are so used to living for several days on the leftovers from Chai's meals. Another plus is that there is no cover charge on alcohol. We have on several occasions booked the whole restaurant and Chai has worked with us to design an interesting and economical event.

One of the worst Thai meals, and service, I have ever had. The waiter took a long time to take our order, then stuffed it up completely. It's the only Thai restaurant I've been to which doesn't have Satay Chicken Stir-Fry as a main course. I did order another satay dish, but was brought a totally different dish (after a very long wait) and it was the worst satay sauce I have ever tasted. There was a long wait for everything and it wasn't a pleasant experience. The décor looks like nothin has changed since the 1970s. Very disappointing. I won't be back.
We had an excellent celebration at thai on sky for my daughter's birthday and son's confirmation. This time we trusted the owner's opinion on the menu with more authentic dishes, and we were blown away by the flavors and quality of the food. Garlic and chive dumpling, Thai ravioli, and mung bean and sesame dumpling dessert were the picks. Thanks Chai for a great night!
This restaurant is a little hard to find situated above the real estate office with its entry in Victoria ave but it is well worth a visitThe food is traditional style and the serves are bigIt can be a little noisy when large crowds are in attendance but withstanding that it enjoyableI thoroughly recommend this as a great night

Thai on Sky is quite large and comfortable. There is nothing to distinguish the food from any other suburban Thai restaurant. There are vegetarian options. Service again is fine- average- on a Friday night.
