I'm in Carson and I've been here for years and never had a problem that calls for and ordered for recording until tonight. Only at 7 p.m. from work and wanted to call forward to order and nobody answered the phone. Maybe 5-10 times, no answer. Suppose they were closed since it was veterans day, but I went to Rhe restaurant and they were open! I walked in and complained, and the whole guy had to say that he was the only one who worked both rooms. Sounds ridiculous when both rooms weren't even packed. This restaurant is in desperate need of a complete renovation! It's evident that the place is falling apart, and that reflects in their food and service. The service was mediocre at best; I can't really blame the overwhelmed staff member who was juggling dining customers, phone orders, and pickups. I ordered the garlic chicken, but I was sorely disappointed—there was absolutely no garlic flavor in the dish. When I asked if this was indeed their garlic chicken, they confirmed it was. Unfortunately, it seemed like they only used garlic powder, and the dish had more of a peppery taste due to the excessive black pepper. I think this will be my last visit to this restaurant. This place was amazing for me for the longest time. Tasty food, a little expensive but it was worth it. Now, the portions aren't as much as their prices. What used to be $18-20ish is now an explosive $30+. 4 ribs became 3 ribs and their chicken as it used to hearty and large is comparable to chicken pieces at an Albertson's for like a third of the price. They've also portioned more rice than meat, despite their meat being the star of their dishes. The quality thankfully hasn't deteriorated, so they're doing something right.
Just as good taste as other Thai original BBQ franchises. The same old carpets, aquarium etc.? the owners should invest in improving the appearance of their restaurant. The carpet is super old. Eat ia well, but it can be served warmer. The guy who served us today is great on Wednesdays at 4-5. He was the only one who served all the tables to go and phone orders. On Sunday, February 27, 2022, I waited 50 minutes for my order, and unfortunately, the pork ribs were dry. I ordered two servings of the same dish, but they were inconsistent in quality. Additionally, some of the vegetable plates were missing certain veggies. I've been coming here for over 15 years, so I will give it another shot.
The top two Thai restaurants in Long Beach are Thai District and this place. However, I always prefer Thai BBQ above all! Thai BBQ is number one in my book. I've ordered from here numerous times, and I've never had any issues. The portion sizes are generous, and the food is absolutely delicious.
