I’m very impressed with this restaurant, but the service was by far the best thing about it. From the minute we walked in, the staff made you feel so welcome. As someone who has travelled to Thailand, I felt that this place was very authentic, and we were treated so well from start to finish. I would not go back or recommend this place in the slightest. It is an extremely loud place to start. I wouldn’t recommend this place for a quiet or calm night. The food was horrible and overpriced. The starters were all deep fried, it reminded us of a low quality buffet. Do not get the calamari or prawn cakes. We ordered crab, prawns chef special and steamed seabass. It came cold and over friend, it was sickly. The crab was inedible and the extremely fishy smell made it worse. They hardly provided any good quality meat or fish. I have lived near Guildford for over 20 years and the restaurant celebrated its 20th birthday recently but I had never heard of it! Pity. It was delightful. It is easy to access, there is plenty of (pay for) parking, the restaurant is beautifully decorated, the staff gracious and welcoming and the food is really excellent, both plentiful and delicious. On a Tuesday evening the place was really busy, an indication of its popularity with the locals. I find it difficult to believe that some reviewers were dissatisfied with it. Managed to get a last minute table! The staff here are always superb and really helpful! Despite the restaurant being fully booked (and it’s a large restaurant) the food came out quick and the staff kept the drinks coming! To say they are on it is an understatement! The food is fantastic and great portion sizes! We had the veggie platter to start then I had green Thai chicken curry and my partner had the veggie pad Thai! All tasted fantastic! Service is really good! Totally opposite to the food they serve. Out of all the food we ordered, only one dish was tasty and was worth the money. Rest everything ordered was really bad. Food was super dry, too sweet, overcooked and overpriced. 2 of my family members have got upset stomach after the meal last night. I wouldn’t go there again. Just to say again serving staff was really good.
We have been frequently to the Thai Terrace for many years now and the quality has always been outstanding. However, the recent ridiculous price hikes have completely put us off. Sadly there are other establishments where the food is just as good but not paying nearly £200 for a meal for 2.
