My brother and I were exploring a few weekends ago and we found ourselves in North Kansas City in an area called The Iron District. Neither of us had ever heard of it, so we parked and trekked in to find a collection of small businesses in a sort of co-op. I'll review the Iron District another time, but as we walked around we chose to grab lunch from Thaiger KC. The menu was pretty limited, but when you're a small business with limited space it makes sense to curate the options you offer. We ordered the short ribs, the pork belly, and an order of eggrolls. I've been to Thaiger many times over the years and have always recommended it to others but was really disappointed this visit. Got the pho today since it was kind of cold out (I've had it at least 2 times in the past) and it was basically inedible. The meat was so tough I had to spit it out and eat spicier than it's been in the past. Ended up throwing it out without finishing.

Delicious pork belly....perfectly layered meat fat. Good portion...I had plenty left for a second meal. And I can't say enough about the Thai Chili Lime Sauce!!!!

Pho was great! The guy said it was a 7 out of 10 on heat, the man child agrees!! The egg rolls were great with an amazing sauce. Had to get extra sauce!!
