I have been a patron of That's Amore for the past few years. I have always enjoyed the food, casual ambiance, and friendly staff. Today, I had a completely different experience. I realize that we are all experiencing a difference in our normal existence. I, also, appreciate that restaurants are suffering, as a result of closures due to Covid-19. Here is my experience: We walked in to be greeted by the owner/manager (who was obviously drinking). We witnessed him chugging Peroni beers and wine... while dancing around the restaurant. Went to a friends beach condo for the night and we decided to try this out for dinner! We walked in and it's pretty small inside and all the tables were full. We figured it might be a long wait, but when the guy came over to ask us how many, we said 6 and he said it would be about 15 minutes! Ok, cool! They have a small bar, we got 2 beers for the men and we got Reisling wine. Wow, do they give you a huge glass of wine! 4 drinks was $23,not bad! We waited about 10 minutes and they seated us. I sat at the bar, but the music was so loud that I could hardly hear my companion speak, and I'm not hard of hearing. They brought out fresh bread with olive oil, vinegar, and a delicious herb dipping sauce, which I really enjoyed. I ordered a pizza with extra cheese, garlic, and basil, but it wasn't cut all the way through. I had to ask for a knife to cut it myself, and they provided me with just a butter knife. Unfortunately our favorite little Italian restaurant is no longer a place we will revisit. We've loved That'sAmore for years and have had amazing meals and enjoyed he atmosphere. But last night, we had the most disgusting food, from the appetizers, something resembling a Cesar salad, and rubber chicken piccata and penne aka vodka that 100% came out of a jar. It was just terrible. Our waitress forgot anything we asked for and barely looked over 17. Music was coming from a boom box that was on for 5 minutes then back on again 15 minutes later. Although there was a slight delay in getting our main courses, our waitress was fantastic—always attentive and ensuring our wine glasses were filled throughout the evening. She truly made our experience enjoyable and did an excellent job. The main dishes, including Veal Piccata, Chicken Saltimbocca, and Pappardelle Alfredo, were all generous portions (enough to take some home after those large appetizers). We all adored the tiramisu for dessert. All in all, for such a casual spot, the Italian cuisine lived up to the Yelp reputation that brought us here. If you’re in New Smyrna Beach, I highly recommend this restaurant.

I ordered the chicken piccata after being enticed by a photo I saw on Google. I got takeout, returned to my hotel, opened a bottle of wine, and then unpacked the chicken. I can't fully express how disappointed and shocked I was by its appearance and taste. There was no breading on the chicken breast at all. The lemon wine sauce was overly tart and very watery, almost like the chicken had been steamed in lemon water. I'm sharing a photo of my meal along with the one from the Google review for comparison. I really don't understand why they omitted the breading seen in the photo; it was such a letdown.

With just a few improvements the experience here would have been better. Menus were worn and dirty. Table was dirty (photo) Wine glass dirty. I'm starting to wonder how clean the kitchen is. Food arrived, great presentation No fresh grated cheese. If Olive Garden can pull off fresh grated cheese there's no reason not to have it. Food was good, not great but good. Not in a rush to return.

I ordered a Caesar salad, it came warm and wilty. When I got my chicken parmigiana it was super big thick and soggy, as it's supposed to be thinner and crispy. It had no flavor and it was so much water underneath I could not enjoy my meal as I tried as much as I could. Réservez une table maintenant

First time here. It might be a local fav, but very bland food. Spaghetti Pescadore had lots of seafood, but no complimentary flavors. Caesar salads had wilted lettuce. Tiramasu was more like tres leches.

Marlee was amazing and the food was very good She went out of her way to make sure everything was perfect It's nice to think good old fashion Customer Service was first and foremost I'll be back
