The Ahwahnee Dining Room

Soup came cold. We told waiter . Food was lukewarm. Nothing came hot. Prime Rib was good but lukewarm. Chicken was awful very tough. Salad were great. Needed Salmon? no fish or it was gone by 6 pm?? Hostess at reception desk for dining room outstanding! For every meal. Breakfast was great! Loved the Lox and bagels...French toast good..I love that architecture of the Awahanee .... So beautiful with the snow too. Servers especially the meat cutter was outstanding and Friendly. For 200.00 Buffet for 2 ....it was not the best .

It was incredible. We have eaten there several times over the years and it just keeps getting better. The room, the history is stunning. They were doing a buffet and it was better than I could imagine. The shrimp was perfect and the prime rib off the charts . The mash potatoes had a hint of rosemary and the best we have ever had. There were tiny desserts so you can try everything. I booked out next year reservations the next day. It is something everyone should experience.

You are forced to use valet parking! An extra $10, plus a tip can't blame the valet staff). Buffet for $63 per person was the only choice. Dinner for 2 was $177, and that didn't include alcohol. Food was very good, and wait staff was friendly and attentive. But still miffed at the parking situation :

Really, really miss the full service menu. We went twice this weekend, Thursday was good because we went earlier. Saturday for my birthday dinner they were out of half of the options when I went up refilled later I noticed as I walked out) and meat was dry and cold. Pretty disappointed. :

We went in for a drink on a blustery day, bartender was excellent, had one one of their house specials that Identified as chili , but was really a stew While it was very good I would consider DEI has gone to far if allowed to compete in a Chili Cookoff
