A unique and amazing place! Currently, they are doing bouffet only, which was quite good. The service was friendly and just great in every way. Some of the food was very tasty, and some was pretty good. There was a variety for everyone. Prime rib, shrimp, fish, chicken, pork, as well as many vegetable dishes, terrific mashed potatoes, cheese polenta, and more. Two kinds of salad: Caesar and an sweeter one. Many tiny little desert pastries. Live piano music. Candle light. And historical, artistic architecture and furnishings. What a charming, awesome experience!
It was incredible. We have eaten there several times over the years and it just keeps getting better. The room, the history is stunning. They were doing a buffet and it was better than I could imagine. The shrimp was perfect and the prime rib off the charts . The mash potatoes had a hint of rosemary and the best we have ever had. There were tiny desserts so you can try everything. I booked out next year reservations the next day. It is something everyone should experience.
You are forced to use valet parking! An extra $10, plus a tip can't blame the valet staff). Buffet for $63 per person was the only choice. Dinner for 2 was $177, and that didn't include alcohol. Food was very good, and wait staff was friendly and attentive. But still miffed at the parking situation :
Really, really miss the full service menu. We went twice this weekend, Thursday was good because we went earlier. Saturday for my birthday dinner they were out of half of the options when I went up refilled later I noticed as I walked out) and meat was dry and cold. Pretty disappointed. :
