We have been frequenting The Amber Rooms for a while now, and like all Wetherspoons, you can expect great value drinks and food. Since Dan and his team, previously from Moon and Bell in town, have taken over, we have noticed a significant improvement in the overall experience at The Amber Rooms. We want to give a special mention to Alice, who always goes above and beyond to provide top-notch customer service with a smile, whether serving drinks or food to our table. It seems that the place is now cleaner and the staff are more efficient in clearing tables. The food is served hot and promptly. Overall, we have no complaints or criticisms.
First time in this establishment as wanted some breakfast on way back home and struggling to identify options but we needed to go shops and this place (which we were aware of) was conveniently located. Surprised how many folks in there for midday on a Sunday, not always but usually a good sign. 2 full English breakfasts , coffees and a punk ipa. I’m not going to get all Gordon Ramsey on the quality of the food but it was ok (especially for the price) however what I would say was the service was tremendous from the bar staff to our waitress. Great job. Will re visit.
Service by all staff was abysmal- young kids who haven’t a clue about allergies, unbelievably slow service and male supervisor with a passive aggressive attitude to customers and his staff. Waited an hour for breakfast which was a total mess. I know Wetherspoons is what it is but staff need a rocket or a proper supervisor or they will run this place into the ground
Quick lunchtime stop . Ordered fish and chips and was really happy with my order. Great size portion, freshly cooked fish, crispy batter, no skin on fish beautiful chips and peas. Very good service . Its nice and quiet (week before freshers week), so plenty of staff to provide a great service. Visited here numerous occasions and never disappointed

The food at this Wetherspoons restaurant was as expected, but the staff were extremely rude. One of the staff members even swore at us and accused us of sitting at the wrong table. Despite our explanation that we were at table 50, not 15, he rudely insisted that he already knew that and berated us. Incredibly unprofessional behavior.
Ordered 2 ice cream’s watched the waiter bring them over to our table with his fingers hooked over inside the bowls!!! What a way to carry them!!! Surely you should be holding them from the bottom. We couldn’t eat them. Staff need training!! Disgusting!!!
Ordered large fish and chips. Got very small fish, peas frozen to very cold plate, chip's barely warm. Ask for person in charge, still waiting after 35 minutes. Give this place a miss, no interest in customers at all.
The staff was welcoming and the service was quick. The food surpassed my expectations for a Weatherspoons. The Onion Rings were better than those I've had at more expensive restaurants.

Abigails attitude was a problem. What happened to a friendly smile when entering a bar? Obviously didn't want to be there. Rude girl and I hope she finds a jib she likes in the future.
This place was absolutely awful and unwelcoming, they even got us barred from the rest of the local bars. Awful end to an average night!
