The Anchor Inn - Réserver une table

We finally gave the Anchor Inn a try it's amazing that a place only open 6 days a week from 5 to 10 for 60 years can provide such lackluster food. Below average is my observation. Now that is to say the food is edible but there is no passion, no artistry. It's a phoned in phony Italian food restaurant. If you don't care about spices and seasoning this place should be fine for you. The portions are decent the service was just fine. The decor is 1950's ski lodge with a touch of your grandma's kitchen. Big clunky chairs and tables packed tightly together. They have a full liquor license so you can get beer wine and mixed drinks. Average food. Good service. Unimaginative sangria. Tasted good but very retro. The chicken Parm was good. Baked but a bit too much cheese. Had side order of spaghetti which was plentiful but the sauce was bland. The mixed seafood platter was good. It came with 3 large scallops, 3 large shrimp, and a few mussels. Side order of pasta was same as above. Bland sauce. The dinners came with salad which was really nice with thin sliced onions and a really nice tomato. My blue cheese dressing was good. But the balsamic was just that. The bottle of balsamic vinegar was put on the table. No oil. No seasonings. Just the bottle of balsamic. Our favorite waitress surprised us by being there. This was my first time dining at this restaurant and I was disappointed to learn that they will be closing soon. Despite this, I decided to try the lasagna and I was extremely pleased with my choice. The portion size was substantial, the dish was served piping hot, and it was absolutely delicious.

Great place for a cozy dinner after a day at the beach. People are so great here, you feel like family. The food is tasty and portions are huge. Will definitely come back when in town.

Chicken parm is where it's at!!!!!!! Laid back simple atmosphere- nothing fancy- but the chicken parm is great!
