I don’t write many reviews, but my 11 year old begged me to leave one after our visit this half term! I visited with my two children and we were immediately seated and offered free drinks for the kids, which was a lovely touch. My youngest had a breakfast, which was a perfect size for her. My elder daughter had the ham and cheese toastie, which as she said, was “bigger than her head”. Lots of oozy cheese and thick, proper ham. I had the Cajun chicken roll, which was really tasty. I’ve visited the backyard many times over the years and I understand the owners have changed. The menu items themselves have changed and there are less cakes available, but the top quality ingredients, intimate, friendly environment and small but perfectly crafted menu itself have remained. My pre teen isn’t enthusiastic about much these days, but the backyard almost raised a smile from her, so it must be good!
Absolutely beautiful food, great atmosphere and good tea!! Had an amazing time. The hospitality was second to none. Fully recommend the mushrooms on toast with poached eggs. Amazingly supportive for a breastfeeding mum too. Would advise to book if you turn up with lots of strollers and babies but they accommodated us well. The staff are amazing and the owner super friendly (I’m so sorry I didn’t get your names) will definitely be back and bringing more friends too. Oh…don’t forget to go home with some cake, definitely recommend the brookie!!
Me my partner have visited here a few times now it never disappoints, the food is actually amazing, the way the food is presented is wonderful the quality of the food is second to none. I would have highly recommended this place to friends family. It's spotlessly clean the service is excellent the staff are friendly pleasant too. My only gripe is that due to work commitments we can't visit as often as we'd like, so for now we have to settle for going whenever we have time off from work.
