Food was terrible stone cold and inedible they agreed to do again and said it would b ten minutes, 2 minutes later the food came out one still stone cold the second with so much steam coming off you couldn’t touch or eat it without it scolding you! I went to the bar to complain and the First Lady was very polite and the alleged manager came over looking at me with her mouth open the whole time telling me it was freshly cooked! I said obvs that’s not the case as the steam was bellowing off one plate and the second one was stone cold again! This is a nice looking restaurant with lots of history. Looks nice and clean and was looking forward to a nice breakfast, however the experience was ruined by the miserable lady serving at the bar. Try and raise a smile for your customers. It doesn't cost anything, or put someone serving who looks like they actually want to work. Then the food came out. All was cooked ok but everything was cold. The Sausages had a slight warmth about them but everything else was cold. Even the hash browns which are usually the temperature of the sun, seemed to have just come out the fridge. All in all, not a great start to the day.
Ordered cod and chips on mobile app to be told out of cod? So I changed my order and my wife had the vegan pizza, the pizza was dry as any I have ever seen, no cheese and a scattering of some veg and a few mushrooms. My wife was up all night with an upset stomach. The only good point was the service, beside that a visit I would avoid in the future, which is a shame as I have been reviewing all wethersooons in Essex (8 so far) and rated them all with five stars.
On Saturday 16th September 2023 i took my family for lunch (there was 4 adults/2 children) my husbands lunch was much smaller than my grandsons childrens meal when i pointed this out to a member of staff she was very unhelpful and borderline rude then my sons lunch had a big hair in it (yuck) my son didnt feel hungry anymore the service was terrible the food may be cheap but thats because its tiny portions and inedible very very disappointing

We visited for curry night tonight with friends, we visit quite often. Staff are normally very polite and nice, surprisingly we had a very poor experience due to the waitress who was clearly not interested her job, she was rude and ignorant when the order was incorrect, and actually turned her back on us and walked away. I understand that staff work hard and some days are stressful. But no excuse for bad manners
Don't get me wrong, they are what they are and generally i am happy in a wethys but this one is hard work. Dirty tables not cleaned, extremely slow service, wrong meal substitute despite advising of an allergy, a whole host of menu choices out of stock. It wasn't particularly busy so i can only assume it is not well managed.
Pub was only about a third full but there was not one clean table available,dirty plates and glasses everywhere . Tried to order a curry but was told that they’re ‘not cooking rice today’ So had a Burger and a mixed grill which were ok for the price . Won’t be going again,place was filthy
Popped into Wetherspoons for lunch with my three children, the individual servicing us a Chris who advised me she was the manager was clearly not wearing a bra which I didn't expect in a family pub when someone is so well endowed on a cold day Put a bra on love it's a family pub

dissappointed, curry night, thursday 6pm 22 Jun no naga chilli chicken vindaloo, no onion bhajis, no samosas good prices but not really curry night when the essentials aren't in stock
The staff are shockingly poor. The 'manageress ' is incredibly rude. I don 't understand why someone who appears to dislike the general public, chose hospitality as a career.
