It’s hard not eating fish and chips when you are in a place like Stonehaven. I ordered the MSC Standard Haddock with chips for £10.30. You can tell the fish was fresh from the first bite. It was extremely delicious. Sadly the tartar sauce is bot included with the chips so do not forget to order one for £1. My only complaint would be about the portion sizes. I wish there were a little more chips, but considering how cheap the prices are you can just buy another portion of chips. Definitely give it a go when you are in the area.
Dropped in after spending an afternoon in Stonehaven. Chose this chippy after reading reviews and we were not disappointed. Fresh fish, cooked there and then, not too greasy and perfectly cooked chips. A little on the expensive side for what we’re used to, but you absolutely get what you pay for here and we were more than happy to pay a little extra for the freshness. Service was good and everything cooked to order so you cannot ask for more than that! If you’re in the area… this is the chippy to go to!
As senior citizens, we each had a small fish chips, one battered, one breade, plus mushy peas, plus curry sauce. It was plenty for us. We were well full afterwards. The fish was just as it should be, hotter than I normally seem to get. Chips were great. Mushy peas had more tangible peas than elsewhere. The only thing worth mentioning was perhaps the curry sauce, more than I often get, but thinner. With quite a strong taste. I loved seeing the name of the boat which landed the fish behind the counter.
Hadn’t been in a while but wish we hadn’t bothered. It was a Tuesday mid afternoon so great that it wasn’t busy. We were disappointed on the whole. Fish was lovely fresh and tasty but about half the size you would expect. The chips really weren’t good and we never ate them all. The chips were a bit hard, cool and tasteless. We remember it being much better previously.

We came here from a recommendation from a lady in a shop at Forfar! We ordered a bartered sausage with chips, fish and chips and a portion of smoked sausage for our two dogs. The food was presented so lovely in boxes, we didn’t get chance to take a picture because as soon as we had sat down to eat, they were gone! Food was gorgeous!
Great location right on the promenade by the sea. However the fish were very small! Where were the jumbo haddocks advertised loudly on their website? Disappointing. The breaded coating and their own tartar sauce was wonderful. Pity about the tiny portions!
Really good fish and chips! Great to see the provenance of the fish (and the potatoes! Friendly efficient service and good sized portions. Batter crisp and not greasy and beautiful fish and real mushy peas not tinned! Worth all the awards!
Have been many here may times and would always rate it highly but the smoked haddock supper is the best chippy I have ever had. Lovely home made sauces and coleslaw and tasty mushy peas.

Very expensive and disappointing £2 for a can of coke yes £2 and £4 for a little bag of rubbish chips and believe it or not 60p for a sauce. Daylight robbery
Excellent fish light and crispy batter. Chips delicious too! A lovely spot. Might be a wait for orders due to it being so rightfully popular!
