Called in for the first time (and I’m afraid, probably the last). Ordered two breakfasts and asked if one could substitute the tomatoes for a slice of bacon. To be fair, the young lady said bacon was more expensive so I would have to pay which I agreed to. However, looking at the very small portion of tomatoes (I would estimate it to be a half of a normal size tomato), that was left off, and the small slice of streaky bacon (1 inch wide by 5 inches long) which was over cooked, I was most disappointed to find I had been charged £1.99 extra. I simply feel I have been ripped off which is a shame. Had this not happened, I would have returned for more visits.
Bury St Edmunds has a plethora of cafe choices and so in order to stand out a place has to be exceptional and Bay Tree Cafe is such a place. It is not just the excellent freshly prepared menu, whether eating breakfast, brunch, lunch, from the snack to the substantial and it is not just the terrific, friendly and welcoming staff, from Alex himself to Lisa, Kira, Kelsey and co. It is the combination of excellent food and lovely staff that together create a vibe and ambiance that is very hard to beat. A place you always come out happier than when you went in. A real home from home....
OMG this cafe is just the best. The food is absolutely fantastic and the service from the staff is second to none. It has such a lovely welcoming atmosphere and the owners and chef can’t do enough to accommodate dietary requirements and alter foods for you to enjoy your meal. I highly recommend The BayTree Cafe to all
The food, the service and the atmosphere were all perfect. Breakfast was so good we came back later for lunch and breakfast again next day. Just a short visit to Bury, but so glad we found The Bay Tree. Be adventurous, try something different, visit The Bay Tree and enjoy life.

We found this little gem by chance while shopping in Bury. I’m so glad we did, we were allowed to take the dog in and he was given a Puppaccino meanwhile our food was delicious, service was friendly and efficient. We will be back. Highly recommended
Really lovely people who are obviously passionate about food. Service was warm and friendly, and the meals and bakes we tried were amazing. Our first try of the classic Canadian poutine, was a revelation.
Super friendly staff both front of house and in the kitchen. How often do you get remembered after just one visit! Great coffee and food. Will be visiting again. Thank you for such a lovely experience x
There’s a good vibe going on here. Some quirky decor and a variety of table arrangements to choose from. Also a pleasant welcome. We were only in for a coffee but the food certainly looked good too.

Very welcoming atmosphere, I am nervous at trying new places , great layout inside. Nice menu , we had a breakfast and a pasta dish. Good coffee !
