The Beach Club - Réserver une table

We booked lunch at 2pm for 2 px. I ordered the £29 prawn curry which sounded fabulous. The dish was a disappointment too salty and not especially tasty, although the prawns were fabulous. The curry was served in a hot metal bowl, with the rice in an identical metal bowl. I wasn’t given a spoon or ladle, so I ended up shovelling the rice into the curry bowl using a fork. This produced a sort of risotto with prawns. It wasn’t easy to eat with a knife and fork so I had to ask for a spoon. The staff were few and far between, and nobody asked how the meal had been. I asked for the service charge to be removed from the bill, which the server did without hesitation or question. We walked out feeling disappointed. Such a shame as the location is fantastic, but let down by average food and poor service from staff who couldn’t care less. The food was very overpriced for what it was. The children’s menu states ice cream and drink included, this was not the case when the bill came! Charged adult price for 1 scoop of ice cream and for the drink! Also charged for having water on the table. Plus a service charge was added as compulsory not voluntary. When queried with the waitress, she said it was all standard and that was the final bill! Over £200 for 5 adults and 1 child to eat a main dish! Definitely won’t be dining there again!! The food was good but the prices were eye- wateringly expensive for what it was. The burger was nice enough, but it was definitely not worth £22, while the portion size of our squid starter was miniscule. Lovely place food good staff so friendly very welcoming my husband is disabled Kim could not be more helpful what a lovely girl we will go back when next in area. Wish we had this restaurant in poole.
