I visited the restaurant on a quiet Sunday morning. The corn chowder was disappointing, as it contained very little corn and was more broth than anything else. There was no dipping sauce available for the sweet potato fries. The Reuben sandwich was just okay. The service was satisfactory. It can be a bit challenging to find a restaurant near the campus.
I'm from out of town and the owner and locals were very friendly and even complimented my selection of tunes on the jukebox. They just added food and their cook Alfredo is a master chef and you can't beat $3.75 beers and a good game on the TV's. My week stay in Chicago I went back 3 times, I highly recommend this spot.
This historic tavern has been a staple for a long time, but its age is becoming more apparent. Both the outside and inside appear worn and could use some care. The prices for beer are a bit high, and during our visit, there were no options for any draft beer—just an old brass rail with all the taps taken away.
Great patio for a summer night. Burgers, drinks, attentive service, not expensive, beautiful and walkable neighborhood. Went on a week night and stayed until the fireflies came out. Réservez une table maintenant
A great old school neighborhood tavern from back in the early 20’s when it was originally Sullivan’s. Beer and Whiskey Stop in have a cold one with John the bartender. Cash Only
We dined on the patio on a lovely evening. We had cheeseburgers and a patty melt, and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We will definitely return!
Delicious burgers and handmade fries in a charming beer garden. The service was excellent! I will definitely return.
