The Bear Inn - Réservation de table

Went here with my family for lunch. We were told to sit on the round table in the ‘other’ room. The room was freezing. Radiator stone cold in November. We all had a burger, we wanted the ‘triple cooled chips’ as described on the menu instead of the skinny fries. The food arrived. The what so called ‘triple cooked chips’ were just frozen chips, 2 frozen onion rings on top of the burger bun, and some leaves on a board. Burger wasn’t even homemade it tasted like castell Howell burgers, and to charge an average 19- 21 for 1 burger? Ridiculous and day light robbery. You can’t charge an estimate of 20 for a burger when all the ingredients on the plate is pretty much cooked from frozen. Far better...

Bored and the weather was rubbish so we hopped into the car and headed for Llandovery from Porthcawl. We’ve been a few times and always had a great welcome and wonderful food. Not the cheapest in town but our criteria is great, tasty food presented well and this place ticks all the boxes and more! We’ve been elsewhere locally…but we’re never disappointed at The Bear and that’s why we travelled all the way today! My son and I tried the new burger and hot dog menu. Mushroom with Halloumi, and Cod goujons with tartare sauce all with crispy skinny fries, onion rings and a lovely side salad. My partner and I decided to stop by this restaurant on a whim after a quick search on Google. We were impressed by their diverse menu and were not disappointed by the food. We both opted for burgers, even though I don't usually eat the bread. However, the flavors were so delicious that I couldn't resist finishing every last bite.

Highly recommended as the food was lovely, the variety was surprisingly extensive including tasty gluten free and plenty of veggie and vegan choices and the service was excellent. Would like to add that the young lady who served us, Alex, was welcoming, helpful and very funny. Réservez une table maintenant

Stopped here after a very long drive and luckily there was a table (still early). The staff were so friendly and welcoming. I got the special fish burger which was delicious (HUGE portions btw). My friend got the lasagne which was also delicious! Would definitely recommend

We walked into the restaurant around 3pm on a chilly October afternoon. We both decided to order the hotdogs - one with shredded pork and one with chili, both served with fries. The hotdogs were absolutely delicious and we are still thinking about them!

We had a delightful experience at this restaurant for my mother's birthday lunch. Hai provided exceptional service, keeping us entertained and making sure we had everything we needed. We will definitely be returning in the future! Réservez une table maintenant

Amazing fresh food, including vegan and vegetarian and extremely welcoming friendly staff to us and our dog. It's definitely worth a visit!

we stopped for a spot of lunch which was excellent and enjoyed sitting in the sun in the nice outdoor seating area
