Located halfway up (or down) the seriously steep and historic Cartway is the equally historic The Black Boy, named after a nickname of King Charles II. This wonderful pub had a roaring fire and a fine selection of ales, including Ruby Porter from the Gorgeous Beer Co (near Telford), Enville's Ginger Gothic, and Olde Trip (originally Hardy Hansons, now apparently brewed by Greene King). All of these were excellent and fairly priced. The ambience was great, with friendly banter from knowledgeable barmaid Tracy. We could have spent all afternoon in this place, but it was part of a pub tour so we had to move on!

My fiancé and I originally planned to stay just for Friday night, but ended up staying until Monday morning at The Black Boy Inn. We had a wonderful time and the staff were very friendly. The atmosphere was laid back and the pub had a charming old-world feel. While they don't serve meals, they do offer various snacks at the bar. The town itself is charming and has plenty of places to eat, drink, and enjoy. I would recommend a visit or a stay in this town, and definitely recommend stopping by The Black Boy Inn. Enjoy!

Located just steps away from our accommodations, this restaurant was the ideal spot for us to unwind during our two evenings in Bridgnorth. We even had a great time at a quiz night on our second visit! The drinks were reasonably priced, and they had a good variety of ales that satisfied the men in our group. The restaurant had a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, especially with its comforting real coal fire. It truly felt like a home away from home.

The evening bar staff on Monday night at this restaurant could use some improvement in their customer service skills. Unfortunately, there was no food available except for rolls that had been sitting behind the bar all day without refrigeration. Réservez une table maintenant

A real beer drinkers pub with a good selection of ales. We also sampled the scotch eggs and were lucky enough to chat with the farmers who had made them literally that morning. Really tasty and well worth a try1

We visited this pub/resturant on Sunday after looking for somewhere local to eat. We are new to the area and haven't been here before but we will definitely be back.
