The Black Bull - Réservation de table

Went to the Black Bull for breakfast, waited over an hour for the food to come out, when it did most of it was cold, the poached eggs were hard boiled and the toast never turned up, even after asking twice for it. I felt sorry for the waiting staff as they were having to take the flack for everything. This is the second time we have been for breakfast and the second time we have had to wait a long time for the food to arrive, thought it might be a one off. They blamed it on one of the chefs not turning up, as they did last time we went. They took the price of our coffees off but to be fair we should have just walked out and refused to pay. We made a reservation for Sunday lunch on Wednesday, but they were only able to accommodate us at noon due to our party of 7, which was fine as we had young children aged six and two. The staff greeted us warmly, were very accommodating, and attentive. The atmosphere was comfortable and friendly, and it was our first visit so we weren't sure what to expect. The food was delicious, perfectly cooked, and well presented. We were celebrating four birthdays in our group so we brought our own cake, which the restaurant was happy to serve with plates and a sharp knife. I decided to stop in for breakfast over the weekend after being extremely impressed during a previous visit. The food, service, and coffee were all excellent, so I decided to come back the next day for a Sunday roast. The lamb and chicken were absolutely delicious, and we both enjoyed an amazing apple crumble for dessert. Overall, I couldn't find anything to fault with this experience. The staff were extremely friendly and professional. I would give this restaurant five stars.

As ever the food on Saturday night was first class! The improved dining terrace works really well and the atmosphere was great too. Well done to Malcolm, Michael and the team. You have really turned The Black Bull into a wonderful venue. Réservez une table maintenant

Had a lovely experience at the black bull today the staff were so friendly. The atmosphere was great, we sat outside enjoy the best burger I’ve had in a very long time, made by Malcolm. Look forward to visiting again soon Charlene Evan

Love this place when the weather is warm. Grilled hamburgers hotdogs and beer. Owner is behind the grill and is as charming as the food is delicious.
