I’m glad I didn’t see any of the negative reviews about the burgers until after I had placed my order because mine was delicious. I simply wanted a burger, which came with crispy chips, coleslaw, and a side salad. The salad was fresh, and the burger was cooked medium to well, just the right thickness. My partner had an omelette, which was also cooked well. Perhaps they’ve hired new chefs? The young waitstaff were attentive and cheerful, even if they were still learning the ropes.

Charming pub (dare I say the best in Hertford?) with an extensive selection of cask ales. The beautiful garden was just what we needed after a long day of cycling. Our warm hostess made us feel welcome, and the food looked absolutely delicious! I wasn’t hungry enough to try it this time, but I'll definitely sample it on a future visit. Bravo!

A charming pub filled with history. They offer excellent beer, including 5 or 6 real ales to choose from. It’s conveniently located for visits to nearby Hertford Town FC, and the locals and staff are very friendly. Service: 5/5 Atmosphere: 4/5

This is truly a lovely pub. However, more so than in many other establishments, the presence of unavoidable TV screens really detracts from the ambiance. They diminish the charm of the place...

The restaurant offers a wide variety of ales on tap and features a lovely garden. While I didn't get a chance to taste the food this time, it certainly looks delicious!

Just moved out to Hertford and went here for lunch, really friendly staff and all the food was home cooked just like mum makes lovely pub
