We've been here a couple of times before and it's been great, however our latest visit was not a great experience. Portions were small, presentation wasn't anything special, looked like meals I could of in nocked up myself as a quick tea at home, nothing special at all, certainly didn't look like a restaurant dining experience. Also, never come across a restaurant that stipulates on the menu if you want steak they need 48 hours notice! And even if they do, they should tell people when they book in as we had 2 of our party very disappointed on the night. The whole dining experience was also ruined by a group of loud, drunk locals sitting in the dining area and talking and swearing at the top...
We visited the Black Horse for the first time for Sunday lunch, which was fantastic! Delicious beautifully cooked food gorgeous tender beef and pork, crispy roasties and a lovely range of well cooked veg. Each of the 3 of us tried a different dessert, all of which were delicious. It was very welcoming and cosy and the service was amazing, nothing too much trouble. Thanks for a brilliant experience we’ll definitely be back!
Absolutely laden Sunday dinner! Honestly, the best I've had in any establishment and even, dare I say it, home cooked (bar a few exceptions! The quality is exceptional, the quantity is unequalled the hosts can't do enough for you...they even offer you more if you can fit it in!! London Pride and XXXB on pump, roaring log burner and plenty of banter from Kate...we'll be back for sure Tim Ally
We first came to this lovely pub yesterday and loved how warm and friendly everyone is and again today when we had a Sunday lunch which was so delicious and well cooked and excellent portions. The sweets are homemade and massive and delicious. We certainly will be back thank you Katie and your lovely family. Réservez une table maintenant
What a fantastic meal hot freshly cooked roast honey glazed gammon slices were about 10mm thick X2 roast pork not quite as thick hardly any fat to cut off X2 nice veg all fresh potatoes could have been boiled an little longer before roasting but everything was eaten and enjoyed will definitely go back
