Cheers to my first dinner in Olde Town Arvada! It was a big decision since I just moved here. My partner and I had a few options but eventually chose Bluegrass. We parked a few blocks away to take a little stroll through Arvada before heading to the restaurant. When we arrived, there was music playing, and we were lucky to find a bench available on the back patio. I was too tired for bourbon, but I definitely plan to come back for that. I opted for a cocktail and ordered the Italian Sub Pinwheels. I wasn't in the mood for pizza, but these are quite similar. Terrible breakfast spot. Bottomless coffee was empty and never got refilled. Everything bagel was just sesame seeds. $8 sandwich was just unappealing no tomato, onion, lettuce. This isn’t a sandwich, it’s just a bagel they put an egg in! Patio furniture is cheap plastic and many of the chairs were broken. Slow service, server dropped food all over the ground bringing it out. $30 for 2 coffees and bagels with eggs inside. Insane prices.
I stopped in for a coffee to go while exploring the area. The decor was cheerful and it felt like a popular spot for locals to gather. My friend ordered a cold brew topped with blue Buffalo cream (which is indeed bright blue), and I opted for an iced Americano. I think I’ll add an extra shot next time, as I prefer my coffee stronger, but overall, it was quite good. The barista was friendly and the service was quick.
Cool spot with great drinks, but the staff isn’t all that friendly. Sat outdoors and the bartenders could barely crack a smile, let alone attend to us without making us feel like they were too busy for us, or be friendly during our interactions as we tried to strike conversations. I had a fantastic experience with the handcrafted drinks. The bourbon smash was both delicious and refreshing. The staff was very friendly. I didn't sample any of the food, but it certainly looked appetizing. Overall, I would rate the service a 5 and the atmosphere a 5.
