This is a long standing favourite, but today was exceptional. Once seated, our server, Steph came to bring menus, but we were already there for the Roast Lunch sharing platter. She took our drinks order and very soon after the drinks arrived, so did the mound of delicious food. We got roast beef, pork, turkey and half a roast chicken, roast potatoes and parsnips, mash potatoes, carrot and swede mash, pigs in blankets, Yorkshire pudding, red cabbage, green veg, stuffing and endless gravy all for £38.95!! 8 adults and 4 Children attended for a Christmas Eve meal. All eating different things from the , good choice of dishes on the menu. My husband and I chose the Sunday Roast Platter to share, and what a lovely meal we had. The Platter consisted of Sliced Turkey, Sliced Roast Beef, belly Pork, and a full half of chicken, all the usual Roast and boiled Vegetables, and a Yorkshire pudding each. When it arrived, , we were shocked at the size of the meal, we could quite easily have fed Another two people. So much we brought half the meal home with us. All our party thought the food was great, our compliments to the excellent chef, we were also impressed with the service we received from the staff....
I have been wining and dining Mrs E for years at The Boathouse and today was probably one of the best. For a change, we had the Sunday Roast sharing platter. The quality and quantity of food was fantastic, with Mrs E even eating the beef and Yorkshire pudding which she normally swerves. Thanks to Steph our waitress, Brian, Harry, Liam and Manu in the kitchen for a delicious and great value meal.
First impressions great. Good interaction with bar person. Went up for an additional beer, this time only a half when the tender wanted to give me a half that was pored earlier and was by the waste sink. Eyes exchanged that I was onto what I could be served. Bar floor was dirty, coffee from the machine all over the floor. Will not return.

Fabulous family Christmas Day meal, food piping hot and absolutely delicious. We were not rushed at all. Location stunning with a perfect view. Staff worked extremely hard to look after all diners. Definitely booking for next Christmas. Well done team
Excellent Sunday roast, desert lovely and service, beautiful views even on a winters day. we will definitely be dinning there again and highly recommend this pub
The Boathouse is clean, bright and warm. We visited for Sunday lunch and the food was delicious. I enjoyed the game casserole very much.
Our waitress Ella looked after us and was very courteous to me and my mum who is 95,. We had a really enjoyably lunch, thank you

Very good experience, staff great but please don't give red cabbage with Christmas Dinner and the Christmas Pudding was chewie.
It's ideal for meals at any time of day the food and service were first class, they also have high chairs for children
